The Old Granary is on Pateley Bridge's much-photographed High Street, within sight of the bridge over the River Nidd that gives the town its name. Pateley bustles with the business of a working dale through the day, but in the evening it is often so quiet that you can even hear the sheep on the surrounding hills. One of the delights of our town is that, although it is no larger than many villages, we have all the main facilities - you'll find us directly opposite the HSBC bank, which has a cash point. There is a large public car park behind the bank, where you may park free of charge in the evening or pay a very reasonable charge at other times.
Public transport consists of no more than a daytime bus service (details here), so it is generally easiest to come to Pateley Bridge by car or on two wheels. From Harrogate, take the road for Ripon as far as the second of the two roundabouts at Ripley, and then the B6165 for Pateley Bridge. From the west, the B6265 out of Grassington leads directly into Pateley. From Ripon, take the B6265 and turn right at the T-junction just after Blazefield (signed for Pateley). Other routes are probably best found using the AA Route Planner service or, if using satnav, by entering postcode HG3 5AP as your destination. If you are staying in Pateley, you may well find it reasonably easy to walk to us from any of the town's hotels and guest houses.
